My name is Madhu Rajbhandari Munankami from Palpa. I started school at four from a Community Primary School, completing schooling from Padama Public School, Tansen. I studied general medicine at Institute of Medicine for four years. My interests guided me to complete Masters in Public Administration, PGD in ECD and M.Phil in Education from Kathmandu University.
I started my carrier as health professional in newborn intensive care unit in Indra Rajya Laxmi Maternity Hospital where I learnt parenting, developmental psychology of infants. I worked in Mustang, Palpa, Kailali and Teku Hospital in the medical service for eight years. I facilitated parents and children under treatment in an Orthopedic Hospital to support their education as a multi grade educator.
Then over the next eighteen years I worked as senior training officer, field co-coordinator and Director in Setogurans National Child development Services. I am engaged in ECD policy advocacy at national level and sensitization at district level. I am one of the team member in development of National ECD curriculum, National minimum Standard of ECD center, Early learning Standard of Children and ECD/PE training manuals. I am involved in DOE, NCED and DEO; ECD activities such as Instruction and learning Material Development, training evaluation. I have written facilitators guidebook, parenting resource materials, children’s story books and contributed to develop pictorial booklets based on curriculum, ELDS, Minimum standard of ECD center.
I have furthered my knowledge in ECD through various courses and conferences at Golda Meir Mount Carmel Training center, Agakhan University, Flinders University and ARNEC.
